It is astonishing to see just how many craft use the canal.
On our first visit to Venice, we took a water taxi from the railway station, and the driver gave us a roundabout tour of many of the canals on our way to our hotel.
From the bridge, it is a short walk via Rio Terra A Foscarini to Zattere where we took the vaporetto back to the Hilton hotel.
